The national identity of every people is deeply rooted in its history, traditions, cultural heritage, and the desire to live according to the values and principles passed down from generation to generation. Throughout history, nations have sought to preserve their language, traditions, cultural identity, and right to determine their own future. For the people of Moldova, this aspiration has been shaped by centuries of historical events, political changes, and the struggle to preserve their national identity.

This year,  the National Wine Day 2024 festival  will take place on October 7-8. Traditionally, the main festivities will take place in Chisinau's central square.

People of different nationalities and different religions live on the relatively small territory of Moldovan land.

Dragobete is traditionally celebrated in Romania and Moldova on February 24. The traditional Dragobete holiday in these countries is the international equivalent of Valentine's Day.

The traditions of national holidays of the peoples of the world usually have their roots in the distant past and have developed over many centuries.

Some are based on historical events, others on legends passed down orally. The Moldovan national holiday, Martisor, intertwines history with several legends that arose in ancient times, when people personified the forces of nature.

Maslenitsa or Cheese Week is a folk holiday cycle associated with the farewell to winter and the welcome of spring.

Maslenitsa is also a preparatory week for Lent. In the Christian world, its purpose is reconciliation with neighbors, forgiveness of offenses, and preparation for the path of repentance to God.

The stronger half of humanity has a great calling: to defend the Fatherland. Since time immemorial, in every nation, men have stood guard over the peace, protected the vastness of their land, and protected their homes and the peace of their loved ones.

What can be said about love? Everything has been said about it!? Yet, each generation contributes to understanding life's eternal values, writing new lines in the annals of love.

Many stories leave a lasting impression and serve as examples of the highest form of love for generations to come. One of them occurred at the beginning of the Christian era and gave rise to the holiday of Valentine's Day.

Orthodox Christians in Moldova and other countries celebrate Epiphany or Baptism of the Lord on January 19. Epiphany, like Easter, is considered the oldest holiday in Christianity and is associated with the baptism of Jesus Christ in the Jordan River by the Prophet John.

New Year is a holiday for all times and peoples. Although it is celebrated in each country at different times, adhering to its own national customs, a universal atmosphere of joy and happiness pervades everywhere. People around the world look to the future in anticipation of miracles and with hope for the best.
