Milestii Mici is the largest wine cellar in the world and the pride of Moldovan winemaking.

Milestii Mici is rightfully considered one of the most impressive wine cellars not only in Moldova but also in the world. This unique wine complex, whose galleries stretch for approximately 200 kilometers , of which approximately 55 kilometers are actively used for the production, aging, and storage of high-quality Moldovan wines.

Milestii Mici's greatest treasure is its legendary wine collection, numbering between 1.5 and 2 million bottles . It was officially listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest wine collection in the world , making the Milestii Mici wine cellars world-famous and recognized.

The cellars maintain ideal conditions for storing and aging wine. The temperature here remains stable at 12–14°C year-round, and the humidity is 85–90% . These natural parameters create an optimal environment for wine maturation and the preservation of its flavor and aroma.

Galleries included in the Guinness Book of Records

Milestii Mici's underground galleries, stretching over 200 kilometers, are officially listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest wine cellar in Europe. Here you can see entire streets named after wine varieties and thousands of niches filled with bottles of aged wines from various years.

A special place is occupied by the so-called "Golden Collection ," which contains approximately two million bottles of harmonious and aged wines . The collection features rare examples, highly prized by connoisseurs and collectors from around the world.

Excursions and family format

The Milestii Mici wine cellars are open to tourists year-round. Tours are suitable for both adults and families. Children under 10 can participate in tours free of charge when accompanied by an adult, making the complex accessible and attractive to families with children.

Tours include an introduction to the winery's history, wine production, and storage, as well as tastings for adult visitors. Milestii Mici is one of Moldova's main attractions and a must-see on any wine tour.

History, traditions, culture, pleasant flavors, aromas—in a word, quality. All this can be found and experienced at the State Enterprise Quality Winery "MILEŞTII MICI" during a visit to the underground galleries.

The original architecture, reminiscent of ancient feudal castles, the majestic entrance to the galleries, and the crystal-clear waterfall that playfully shimmers – all of this leaves our visitors captivated.

The excursion route can be completed by car, but it is more pleasant to take a walk along the shady streets with lanterns, with names - Cabernet, Aligote, Feteasca - which make us feel like we are in a real underground wine city.

The total length of the galleries is 200 km, of which approximately 55 km (an area of 182,000 m2) are used for technological purposes. The depth of the floor to the surface varies from 30 to 85 meters. Large oak barrels were assembled at the plant in the 1970s and 1980s; the wood was imported from Russia and Ukraine. Their capacity ranges from 600 to 2,000 dal of wine.

The stone cascade and numerous oak casks mysteriously reflect a magical, fairytale atmosphere. A fresco of a bottle with a glass of champagne and the divine aroma of the wine leaves a wonderful impression.

The Milestii Mili Quality Winery has earned its place in the country's tourism program.

Enshrouded in a certain romantic aura, this natural wine storage appeared in limestone adits at a depth of 40–85 m in the distant 70s of the last century.

The wines stored here are made from harvests of different years, ranging from 1968 to 1991.

The spirit of antiquity is palpable in this underground wine city, which has grown out of wide tunnels.

The 200 km long limestone natural adits can be crossed by transport.

The constant temperature of 12-14 degrees and humidity of 85-95% in this “wine kingdom” are ideal for preserving Moldova’s strategic reserves.

The Malomilesti cellars continue to receive selected wine materials from all over Moldova.

The “Golden Collection” of “Milești Mici” contains about two million bottles of harmonious wines from the period of prosperity of Moldovan winemaking: “Pinot”, “Traminer”, “Muscat”, “Riesling”, “Feteasca”, “Codru”, “Negru de Purcari”, “Trandafi rul Moldovei”, “Auriu”, etc.
