The construction of a modern winery and the planting of its own vineyards in Orhei took several years. The first wines, produced from the 2004 harvest , immediately received critical acclaim. The chateau tourist complex opened in 2008. It is located less than 50 kilometers from Chisinau.
Situated on a limestone hill, the complex takes full advantage of the rock's natural ability to maintain an optimal temperature in the cellars.
Here you can enjoy tours and tastings accompanied by professional guides. Château Vartely's tasting rooms provide visitors with the perfect setting for a truly authentic wine tasting. The main tasting room features wines from the winery's own collection. The second tasting room features a collection that includes wines from the world's greatest wine regions.
After a professional tasting, guests can enjoy delicious dishes prepared in the restaurant, and if they wish, extend their stay by staying in one of three tourist villas.
Château Vartely's vineyards cover a total of 300 hectares. They are located in the Codrii region (central part of the republic) and Budjak (in the south). From the grapes harvested on our vineyards, we produce wines with a volume of over 4.5 million bottles.
Our own vineyards in the Codru and Valul lui Traian regions ensure the high quality of our future wines, as 80% of a wine's quality is determined in the vineyard. The microclimate in these microzones allows us to produce unique wines from European and local grape varieties.
