The monastery was founded in 1999 through the joint efforts of believers and nuns. Initially, it was established as a skete of the Froumoasa Monastery , but soon the monastery received the status of an independent women's monastery with an altar dedicated to the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos .
Today, the monastery continues its tradition of spiritual service, uniting pilgrims and residents of nearby villages around prayer and church holidays.

The monastery church, perched on a hilltop, dominates the surrounding landscape. It is built with elements of Russian church architecture , particularly notable for its cupola- shaped domes , characteristic of the traditional Orthodox style.
