Yagorlyk is a state nature reserve located in the Dubossary district of the unrecognized Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, in the lower reaches of the Yagorlyk River, hence the corresponding name of the park.

This is the only nature reserve in Transnistria today.

It was founded on February 15, 1988, in accordance with a government decree, to preserve unique plant communities and species, and to protect the ichthyofauna and other biota groups of the Middle Dniester basin.

The reserve is located on an area of more than 870 hectares of dry land and 270 hectares of water surface.

The reserve consists of dry and aquatic ecosystems. All the conditions for the reproduction of animals and plants have been created here.

The value of the Yagorlyk State Nature Reserve lies in the fact that it is home to many rare, and often endangered, plant species that form unique phytocenoses located on the steppe limestone slopes of the Yagorlyk River.

Among the unique and rare plants, one can note the four-sided broom, which is endemic to Transnistria and grows in only two places along the banks of the Dniester.

Also growing in the Reserve are: large pasqueflower, blackening pasqueflower, Moldovan slender-footed plant, coin-leaved sunflower, wild grape and other protected plants.

If you are a nature lover or simply enjoy a leisurely holiday alone with nature, then be sure to visit the Yagorlyk Nature Reserve.

The places here are very picturesque, and it’s worth it to encounter plants that are practically impossible to see anywhere else except in these places.
