One of Moldova's tourist hotspots is the village of Talmaza. It's home to a winery of the same name, the "Big Tomb" archaeological site, the 19th-century "Mosh Tihon" windmill, and even a pheasant farm.
Talmaza is part of the so-called Purucari viticultural microregion of Moldova. It produces elite wines renowned far beyond Moldova's borders. Wines from the Purucari zone have been well-known since the 18th century, purchased for the royal family and later by members of the British Crown.
Moldova is known worldwide as a region with distinctive folklore, exceptional ethnographic diversity, and welcoming people. It is also a developed wine-growing and wine-making region. The country's distinctive features are clearly evident in its picturesque villages, such as Talmaza.
The Talmaza winery has 450 hectares of vineyards. Tourists can see the wine processing facilities and participate in tastings. At the "Fazanul argintiu" hunting complex, located near the village, you can see partridges, pheasants, guinea fowl, turkeys, and peacocks. These birds are raised here for hunting. There is also an observation deck with views of the Dniester backwater and the "Turkish Garden" landscape reserve.
