The village of Zhelobok in the Orhei district is located approximately 10 km from the city of Orhei, on the banks of the Raut River, on the slope of the river valley. The Raut makes a series of sharp turns here, winding through a gorge alongside low toltra massifs.

About 50 meters from the shore of the Reut River, on a steep rocky slope between two cliffs, a very powerful spring of exceptionally clean and high-quality water flows. Access to the spring itself is blocked and locked due to water protection regulations.

Water from the spring is supplied to a lower-lying water intake and pumping station, and its excess, approximately half of the water intake, or 2 thousand cubic meters per hour, flows through a pipe into a stream that flows directly into the Raut River.

The station supplies drinking water to the city of Orhei via a pipeline system, fully satisfying its drinking water needs.

The spring water is crystal clear and very tasty, low in minerals, and requires virtually no additional treatment or disinfection.

Springs with such a high flow rate are rare in Moldova, especially considering the exceptional quality of the water, which is probably due to the depth of the water table from which the spring originates.
