The southern part of the Republic of Moldova is a true oasis of natural diversity. Recently, this area has become increasingly popular among seasoned tourists.
One of the most successful agro-pensions in southern Moldova is the Eco-Village Văleni complex in the village of Văleni, a must-see tourist destination in the Cahul district.
Eco-Village Pension Văleni is a business with a soul, founded in early 2014 by young entrepreneur Nicu Știrbet in the newly established UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Eco-Village Văleni is a local social enterprise focused on developing rural, cultural, wine, and ecotourism in the area. Nicu Știrbet launched this business with a burning desire to create a goal of national and international interest, becoming a catalyst for rural development in the region through his own example and the implementation of best practices.
The Valeni Eco-Village was distinguished by its intensive efforts to inform and develop local tourism opportunities, as well as the development of local infrastructure. As part of the "Rediscover the Prut Meadow" project, tourist signs, rustic gazebos, and birdwatching towers were installed along the tourist route. The Valeni Eco-Village hosts various seminars and training sessions, and during the warmer months, it periodically hosts craft fairs—one of the few places in the southern region where craftsmen can sell their products.
Thanks to its organized events, the Eco-Village of Valen has managed to attract over a thousand German tourists per season, interested in discovering the village's thousand-year-old traditions and the rich natural beauty of the area.
The resort offers a wide range of products and tourist services. The hosts greet each lucky guest with a warm welcome and invite them to visit the house-museum, designed in the style of the 18th and 19th centuries, with three distinctive rooms: the main house, the kitchen, and the living room. Guests can engage in traditional activities, such as weaving or preparing traditional dishes.
Eco-Village Văleni organizes a variety of educational and recreational activities for its guests, including summer schools; pottery, weaving, and culinary workshops; practical classes for students, teachers, and researchers; eco-trip kayaking and cycling around Lake Beleu, and more.
It is worth noting that the nearby Prutul de Jos Nature Reserve, recently included in the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve network, is one of the main attractions in this area, and more and more tourists are drawn to this magnificent place with its unique rural traditions, which offer an unforgettable tourist experience.
